Prediction of Adherence through Illness Appraisal of Individuals with Diabetes: Role of Experiential Avoidance

In chronic diseases, illness appraisal and adherence to the treatment go hand in hand. Diabetes is a silent killer, most of time, experiential avoidance patient leads drastic consequences. The present study was conducted investigate relationship between adherence, mediating role this among individuals with diabetes. For purpose, data collected from 150 Type-I diabetes (n=71) Type-II (n=79), recruited hospitals Islamabad using cross-sectional research design. To assess appraisal, Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire (Broadbent et al., 2015); for General Medication Adherence Scale (Naqvi 2018) avoidance, Experiential Avoidance (Gámez 2013) were administered.
